Products Hits & Misses, Malaysian Edition
My Marketing class discussion topic is on Product Hits & Misses. I'm grinding my head to recall any products introduced to the Malaysian market that was short-lived. Below are some of my takes. Care to add more?
Maggi Sup Ekor flavour (and some other exotic ones)
Never tried. Withdrawn probably due to low ratings. They should revive the Prawn flavour instead.
Tablet PC
Considered a specialty tool, and not enough supporting applications beyond being an e-book.
"The Taco push-cart stall in Plaza Masalam, Shah Alam"
Only got to try it once. It's nowhere near an authentic taco taste, but those who never experienced Mexican snacks (i.e. the wife) thought it was nice. Nevertheless, they closed shop or moved somewhere else, probably due to low sales. The stall was plain, and I think they should offer free samples to entice and educate customers.
Today's Parent magazine, Malaysia Edition
Again, I happened to grab the last issue. It didn't mention anywhere that it was going to discontinue. Perhaps they realised that few read it, so no one would notice its disappearance. Personally, I thought it was quite good.
KFC Tom Yam, Curry, etc.
We grow up with Hot & Spicy. Any radical attempt to displace this national favourite will be met with fierce backlash (just kidding).
